What we collect
When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address and the signup timestamp. For every visit to the site, our hosting provider and Cloudflare keep short-term server logs (IP address, user agent, request details) for site operation and abuse protection. We also run self-hosted, cookieless analytics that count page views in aggregate without identifying you. None of this is used for automated decision-making or profiling.
Where your data goes
Your data is stored on our hosting provider's infrastructure. Newsletters are prepared by our self-hosted mailing list solution running on the same infrastructure and then sent out via our emailing service provider. Our self-hosted analytics solution runs on the same infrastructure too. Cloudflare handles web traffic to this site. When you play the preview video, it is embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, which still shares your IP address with Google.
Why we collect it and on what basis
We use your email and signup date to tell you when the platform launches. We may send a few related emails before that. After launch, we stop using this list. This is based on the consent you give when you sign up, which we record. We use server logs, abuse-protection checks, and aggregate analytics to keep the site secure, debug issues, and understand how the site is used — based on our legitimate interest in running a reliable site.
How long we keep your data
Newsletter records: until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete them. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email on a suppression list so we don't accidentally re-add you. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days for security and debugging. Aggregate analytics data has no personal identifiers and is retained indefinitely. Some records may stay longer if required by law.
Cookies and local storage
Cloudflare may set functional cookies for security and bot protection. Our analytics does not use cookies. We store your theme preference and cookie notice acknowledgement in your browser's local storage so the site can remember them between visits.
International transfers
Cloudflare is US-based and your data may be processed on their global network. The YouTube embed also shares your IP address with Google in the US when you play the preview video. These transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
Your rights and choices
Newsletter signup is optional — we cannot add you without your email and consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every newsletter email. You can also ask for access to your data, its correction, deletion, restriction, transfer, or object to its processing. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
